Healthcare & Technology

Having worked with industry leaders in healthcare, the Tartan Silk team has a very good working knowledge and understanding of the sector.

Two of the main players with which we have worked include Watford-based Telehealth Solutions Ltd. (THSL) and Optometry Scotland, a non-profit making organisation established to develop and represent the views of the entire optometry sector.

In February 2010, Tartan Silk was asked to develop a public relations strategy to increase awareness and build the profile of Optometry Scotland through Scottish local and national, print and broadcast media. We secured coverage in national and local print and broadcast media channels, including high profile interviews with the organisation's chairman, Peter Carson, on BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘MacAulay and Co’ and STV’s ‘The Hour’ to highlight national eye health week and the importance of going for regular eye health check ups.

Tartan Silk has also assisted with events at the Scottish Parliament, organised photo shoots during Optometry Scotland’s summer road show and kept the public and industry aware of any developments within the optometry sector.

Having also done project work for  Helica Instruments and Excell Biotech, the team has worked closely with Telehealth Solutions to boost the company's images in the UK and abroad.

THSL provides providing the most secure, scalable and robust methods for collecting information from patients, without the need for clinical intervention, and getting that information into the hands of clinicians and carers. As with all its clients, Tartan Silk integrated fully with Telehealth Solutions and provided expert PR support and guidance.

In January 2010, we secured national newspaper, television and radio coverage for one of THSL’s innovative projects. The firm’s HomePods were installed on the Isle of Bute to monitor patients with chronic lung conditions and the project clinched a national award for innovation in healthcare.

We also facilitated demonstrations of THSL equipment for key politicans at the Scottish Parliament. The aim was to ensure the firm's technology was uppermost in the minds of the key decision makes when the time comes to streamline primary NHS services.
