Eilidh Child supports Optometry Scotland's free eye care campaign

Commonwealth silver medallist Eilidh Child has joined some of Scotland’s other top sport stars in backing Optometry Scotland’s ‘Open Your Eyes’ campaign to promote free NHS eye tests.
World bobsleigh champion Gillian Cooke and Scotland rugby legend Scott Hastings have already voiced their support for free eye tests in Scotland and now 400m hurdler Eilidh is the latest to get involved.
Speaking in today’s Daily Record newspaper she said: “I thought it would be a good thing to be part of because I am really bad at going for eye tests.
“I decided this was a good chance to go and get one myself and back the campaign.
“Thankfully, my eyes were fine and I was really surprised how easy it all was.
“I don’t think people realise it is available or that so many different problems can be picked up early through an eye test.”
Everyone in Scotland is entitled to a free NHS eye exam at their local optometry practice.
