Quote from Fiona Hyslop on The KIST and VOICES
Mon 08 Aug, 2011 // Bronagh GoanFiona Hyslop – Cabinet Secretary for Culture and external Affairs – attending the previews of Edinburgh Fringe acts, The KIST and VOICES, and here’s what she has to say about the performances.
“It was a pleasure to attend the New Town Theatre last night and to see two very different performances.
“Voices is an exquisite fusion of traditional songs performed by singers from across the globe, in a variety of rich and contemporary styles. That is what our festivals are all about - welcoming the world to Scotland.
“A whirlwind journey through Scotland’s story, The Kist is a special blend of old and new musical styles which beautifully portrays Scotland’s huge influence on the world.
“Both shows are a true reflection of the multicultural world we now live in, where Scotland’s culture has touched all corners of the globe.”
